Rain in the desert

Coming in 2011 you can meet inspirational desert folk here at JTF.

*Upcoming chronicle of Sky Village swap meet impresario Bob Carr and the epic realization of his Crystal Cave art installation, being born with the help from Danish art students and the local community.

*Upcoming profile of western artist Jim Regimbal that includes time-lapse “quick-draw” video sketches. And, hey there, Pard, be sure to take a looky at the tour through Jim's studio and small barnyard.

*Upcoming visit with Pearl Copeland and her partner Bill Ritchey in which she tells the mytho-poetic story of her “community,” a menagerie of table-top figurines that she has collected over the glorious years. Think of the great Sanskrit epic, “The Ramayana” set in the village of Desert Hot Springs.

*Upcoming appreciation for the fine art of pine-tar soap-making when visiting with Sky Village swap-meeter, storyteller, and soap-maker, Emil Knodell.

*Upcoming profile on crochet master John Lousignont AKA Johnny Victor. John's story of how he came to make his HamBams (hand made by a man) crocheted headwares is another great transformation by craft tale.

*Upcoming visit with cowboy mechanic Owen at his rancho, the former home of actor William Holden. Includes a ramble-tour of the former site of actor John Wayne’s home and a hunt for the last vestiges of neighbor Steve McQueen.

And other horizons…
